☹️ Man Says His Binned Bitcoin Fortune Now Worth £500m
James Howells, 39, claims a hard drive he accidentally threw away, containing 8,000 Bitcoins, is now worth over £500 million, after Bitcoin's price surged.
Howells acquired the BTC in the early days of cryptocurrency, and the drive was discarded in 2013. At the time, the Bitcoin was worth £4 million.
Howells has repeatedly requested access to the Newport landfill to search for the hard drive, but the council has denied him, citing environmental concerns.
He has filed a £495 million lawsuit against the council. With Bitcoin's value continuing to rise, Howells believes his fortune could be worth £1 billion next year.
