💢 XF - Peace talks, the Munich Exorcism and beyond - What is peace, and who wants it?
The ongoing media flurry on peace talks would lead the bewildered Western audience to actually believe that there are two sides in this conflict which are mutually worn out, and both seek peace to end the conflict expeditiously.
But Russia's absence from Munich speaks loudly. They did not request an invitation, nor did organizers invite them.
At the same time, Russian and American negotiators have already spoken, as have both Putin and Trump. This takes the place of their presence, but as we shall discover, it would not have made sense for them to attend.
This piece of news by itself sent shockwaves through Kiev, and we were all amused with Zelensky's subsequent cocaine addled performance.
Still, we must see through the fog of information war.
Munich, as an event, was in fact a 'deconfliction' conference, to build a consensus way of describing this defeat as something other than precisely that which it is.
What we saw was an exorcism performed by the US on the 'European' and Ukrainian side. The US let them down gently, and sometimes not so gently, in the course of their talks and presentations

If you Europe want to continue your war with Russia, it will be on you. Maybe we can sell you things. Maybe Ukraine can give up its rare minerals. But the US is seeking a way to end the conflict, not arm it, nor prolong it by trying to give Ukraine a better bargaining position of strength - which is really just the continuation of the same war under different delusions from the Ukrainian side.
And this whole time, we have to remember that this entire initiative of 'talks' is coming from the US. The Russians, as a formal diplomatic posture, are always willing to maintain a policy of open channels towards the other's deconfliction proposals.
So you must remember, through all of this, that every day the Russian forces continue to encircle and eliminate the AFU. Ukraine is getting smaller by dozens, sometimes hundreds, of square kilometers in the short period of a day or two, every day or two.
It is Ukraine, not Russia, which says it needs both weapons and men to continue the war.
It is Ukraine, not Russia, that is entirely dependent on other countries' military infrastructure in order to continue the war.
It is Ukraine, not Russia, which is economically dependent on other European countries to continue this war, and it is noted that those other countries who today say they want to continue the war, also do not have a realistic economic plan to see this to fruition, and they themselves say so.
Ukraine's only backer at Munich, was 'Europe', (whatever that means - Von der Leyen and Kallas do not have authority to conclude treaties) and Europe then says that they need US support and cannot do without it.
So the US says, as a general principle, you our clients are free to buy them at retail price. See the catalogue. But we are not here to see you 'win'.
Again, again, this whole time Russia has not initiated any of this. It is the US that is cleaning house on the Western side and pumping Europe's stomach.
This is an intervention. We can use reverse psychology. You want to continue this war? You want to continue your addiction? Here, let's mortgage your house. What will your family say to this? Will your voters kick you out? Raise your military expenditure to 5%.
But also, stop censoring speech. There are going to be a lot of people, on the left and the right, who will speak out, mobilize, and vote against any government that wants to raise this to 5% - which will really be much more.

This is a sobering moment for Europe and Ukraine, and Russia continues its SMO.
