✈ Telegram forces mini-app developers to accept payments in Stars
Starting from June 12, more and more news is emerging that various mini-apps now allow users to purchase goods using Telegram Stars ⭐⭐⭐
⏺ As a reminder, Stars is an internal currency recently introduced in Telegram to comply with Apple and Google's digital service payment requirements.
⏺ Currently, Telegram does not have a separate menu for purchasing Stars, but you can already buy it by visiting one of the mini-apps that previously accepted TON payments and switched to Stars.
⏺ It was announced that the exchange of Stars for TON will be available on the Fragment platform, where anonymous numbers, usernames, and Telegram Premium are sold. However, there is still no section for selling Stars on the site. For regular users, the menu for purchasing Stars should appear next to the Telegram Premium tab and also in the @PremiumBot.
⏺ On one hand, loyal TON users may react negatively to this innovation, as most mini-apps previously accepted payments in Toncoin. On the other hand, it is more convenient for ordinary users to buy Stars with a bank card in a few clicks rather than dealing with TON wallets and P2P transactions.
⏺ Meanwhile, Telegram has started sending out warning emails about the imminent blocking of Telegram bots that have not implemented Stars for payments. So far, almost none of the major bots have adopted this new system.
