💊 Popular Asthma Drug May Cause Serious Mental Health Issues in Children and Adults, FDA Data Reveals

Singulair, a widely-prescribed asthma drug, may cause serious mental health issues, according to data revealed last week by the FDA. The researchers found that the drug, also sold under the generic label montelukast, attaches to multiple brain receptors critical to psychiatric functioning.

The data support the thousands of patients and dozens of studies that have reported harmful psychiatric side effects, including depression, suicide, anxiety and aggression.

Originally manufactured by Merck, the drug is prescribed for year-round indoor allergies in patients 6 months and up, seasonal outdoor allergies in patients 2 years and up, and for preventing asthma in patients 1 year and older.

👏 Florida Surgeon General Urges End to Water Fluoridation

“It is public health malpractice, with the information we have now, to continue adding fluoride to water.” — Surgeon General Joseph A. Ladapo

Ladapo said that as a physician, he previously supported water fluoridation because he learned in medical school that it was an important public health intervention. However, the landmark ruling in September by a California federal judge prompted him to review the science.

In that ruling, Judge Edward Chen concluded water fluoridation at current U.S. levels poses an “unreasonable risk” to children’s health.

Ladapo said that once he better understood the science, “I was appalled, frankly,” because scientists have been publishing high-quality studies demonstrating these neurotoxic effects for years yet the public has been largely unaware of those findings.

Sen. Johnson Threatens Legal Action Unless HHS Turns Over Unredacted Emails on COVID Vaccine Safety

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) on Tuesday demanded public health agencies provide complete and unredacted documents about the development and safety of the COVID-19 vaccines, after learning of extensive redactions in documents released in response to multiple Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

In a letter sent Tuesday to HHS, FDA and CDC, he said the redactions make the documents nearly impossible to comprehend and obscure the public’s understanding of issues like myocarditis and pericarditis linked to vaccines.

He also called out the agencies for not responding to his own requests for COVID-19 vaccine safety information. He wrote:

“The lack of transparency from your agencies during the Biden presidency has been appalling. Your agencies’ refusal to provide complete and unredacted responses and documents to my numerous oversight letters on the development and safety of the COVID-19 vaccines has hindered Congressional oversight and has jeopardized the public’s health.”

Johnson’s latest request demands the agencies preserve and release unredacted documents, specifically three documents he said comprised “only a small fraction” of the documents on myocarditis and pericarditis that the agencies “continue to conceal.”

🦠 Escaped Monkeys Stoke Fears of Disease Spread, Lax Security at Research Labs

Four monkeys remain unaccounted for after 43 escaped earlier this month from a research laboratory in South Carolina. The breakout raised questions about a possible public health threat, lax security at research labs and the nature of the research being conducted in South Carolina and at similar facilities.

Francis Boyle, J.D., Ph.D., a bioweapons expert who drafted the Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act of 1989, told The Defender that “scientists” traditionally use primates “to research, develop and test the effectiveness of offensive biological warfare weapons.”

“By reverse-engineering the biotechnology involved, they try to produce an experimental ‘vaccine’ for the biological warfare weapon they have just produced by using primates as well,” Boyle said. “Oftentimes, the experimental ‘vaccine’ is just as dangerous as the biological warfare weapon itself.”
