Who built our canals and our piers? Who built our bandstands and made the underground catacombs beneath our cities? Who built Taj Mahal style palaces next to the sea and called it 'Moorish style'? Where do we come from? How did all this infrastructure get here? Where did the giant dynamos debuted in palaces at world expositions come from>? Who made them? Where did steam engines come from and who made them? Who manufactured gigantic bronze bells? Which company carves ornate gothic cathedrals?

All the stories about our canals would appear to be fiction. "The Rideau Canal is a historic waterway in eastern Ontario, Canada, that connects the city of Ottawa to the city of Kingston. Stretching over 125 miles (202 kilometers), it was constructed between 1826 and 1832 by Lieutenant Colonel John By of the Royal Engineers. "

The Great Fire of Toronto, 1904: This fire, which started on April 19, 1904, burned for 17 hours and destroyed 104 acres of the city. The blaze resulted in the loss of 8 lives and caused an estimated $10 million in damages. The fire's cause remains unknown, but one theory is that a brush fire spread to a wooden building.
The Great Fire of Ottawa, 1900: This fire, which began on April 26, 1900, burned for 12 hours and destroyed 40% of the city. The blaze caused an estimated $10 million in damages and resulted in the loss of 7 lives. The fire's cause is believed to be the result of a spark from a passing train igniting a pile of lumber.

One Man Built 22 Cathedrals In 18 Years

Jon Levi takes a look at construction records of some of Canada's historic sites, compares the population of the areas at the time and who is credited with building them.

This is the silliest part about the Civ Erasure debate ... like when "Aewar" compiled this mass of other people's research, introduced millions to it thru an amazing series, and then suddenly made his 180° argument about "those people couldn't have built that".

... this was never the real issue:

It was the number of structures, the sus people attributed to them, and the time the official records state they took to build .... 1000s of acres of these "graeco-roman" structures, just in the US, alone. Torn down by the same corps that rule us today.

A photo of the construction of Casa Loma, c. 1912

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casa_Loma#/media/File%3AConstruction%2C_Casa_Loma.jpg

Which is interesting since in these two clippings from the Toronto Daily Star states that Sir Henry and Lady Pellatt were living there, even hosting events.

1907:
Sir Henry and Lady Pellatt are at their town house, having closed Casa Loma on Davenport Hill for the winter. Lady Pellatt will not receive until the first Monday in November.

1909:
On Saturday afternoon the Horticultural Society and the Gardeners’ and Florists' Association paid their annual visit to Col. Sir Henry Pellatt's conservatories at Casa Loma. About 300 people were present, and were received by Sir Henry. After the greenhouses had been inspected and admired, tea was served in the conservatory from a long table decorated with lilies and presided over by Mrs. Reginald Pellatt and Miss Perry.
