The nice and the kind

A lot of talk about the importance of being nice nowadays.
It is a blurry line that which separates the concepts of niceness and kindness, but if one were to observe a little closer with sufficient capacity for discrimination, a realization would befall the observer. One would come to see the blurry line for what it is: a ditch which separates two lands composed of opposite attributes and elements.

Nice is an act performed to maintain good relations and the desired reputation. It is the prescribed moral guideline society and ‘good manners’ have dictated to us.
Nice is the persona, in the Jungian sense, the social mask we put on.
Nice is the automatic strategy of people-pleasing, the behavioral blueprint, hardwired since early on onto our psyche, through which we conduct ourselves.
Nice is thus inauthentic, as it is the act we carry out, for instance in presence of an unjust employer. We internally curse and hold a grudge against the tax collector yet display the nice persona we’ve been taught we should display.
Nice is inauthentic indeed, nice is thus submissive, passive aggressive, hypocritical, weak, cowardly, dismissive, often repressed moral conflict.

Kindness is genuine.
Kindness is a virtue.
The kind are lovers of life.
The kind are strong, and strong are the kind.
Many are those who use these two terms interchangeably, but fool yourself no longer, for night and day are like black and white.

Don't be nice. Be kind.

I list below the 21 precepts of Dokkōdō ("The Path of Aloneness") written by legendary swordsman/ rōnin/ philosopher Miyamoto Musashi a week before his death in 1645:

1. Accept everything just the way it is.
2. Do not seek pleasure for its own sake.
3. Do not, under any circumstances, depend on a partial feeling.
4. Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world.
5. Be detached from desire your whole life long.
6. Do not regret what you have done.
7. Never be jealous.
8. Never let yourself be saddened by a separation.
9. Resentment and complaint are appropriate neither for oneself nor others.
10. Do not let yourself be guided by the feeling of lust or love.
11. In all things have no preferences.
12. Be indifferent to where you live.
13. Do not pursue the taste of good food.
14. Do not hold on to possessions you no longer need.
15. Do not act following customary beliefs.
16. Do not collect weapons or practice with weapons beyond what is useful.
17. Do not fear death.
18. Do not seek to possess either goods or fiefs for your old age.
19. Respect Buddha and the gods without counting on their help.
20. You may abandon your own body but you must preserve your honour.
21. Never stray from the Way.

3 points on feminism:

I. Feminism wouldn’t exist if modern men weren’t weak. Despite the “empowerment” propaganda women have been hammered on in the last decades, the decline of traditional masculinity has left women profoundly indignant and lost. Women want a leader (mostly unconsciously), a protector with authority in their lives. That role is played initially by the father figure (ideally), a symbol of stability, security, strength and love. When adults, women are searching for those qualities in a man. With a significant loss of those qualities and standards such as honor, true courage, boldness and strength, women have been left without direction. They subconsciously think, “you pathetic specimen of a man are not worthy of me. You are not man enough to lord over me, nor are you man enough to inherit and operate society. Let me do it instead”.

II. Industrial society of mass consumption has designed and imposed a very specific lifestyle that puts men and women in the same working environment. The feminist movement allowed women to integrate and hold positions in a world that is man’s creation. As a result, our society produces neurotic, crazed women, who in their pursuit of emulating men and acting all corporate and business-like have lost their center and true feminine power, which is the essence of their being.

III. None of the success women pride themselves with was the result of women’s struggle for equality but is in actuality, the design of a specific ruling entity that has as objective the maximum taxation of the entire adult population, the destabilization of the family unit and the reshaping of the entire face of Western civilization for the ultimate purpose of gaining absolute power by weakening and better controlling the unsuspecting dumbed-down masses.
