✈️ What Pavel Durov said at the Meetup in Paris and was there anything about new gifts?⚫️ On Saturday, Telegram’s founder
attended Tonkeeper Talks, interacted with event participants, and even answered a few questions on stage. The organizers, however, made a strict request not to take photos of him.
⚫️ Initially, Pavel Durov didn’t plan to give a speech, but after engaging in personal conversations, he was inspired by the atmosphere and decided to address the audience. Here’s what he shared about Telegram and TON:
— Durov believes that 1% of talented developers can handle most of a project’s technical workload and is confident that Telegram’s team consists of such individuals. Once again, he emphasized that professionalism matters more than team size.
🔥 Unsurprisingly, NFT gifts were a central topic of discussion. While he didn’t provide an exact date for introducing new gifts, he highlighted the explosive popularity of the feature, the ever-growing number of gifts sent, and announced upcoming features such as custom gift creation and the ability to set NFTs as profile avatars.
— Participants asked if «merging» gifts (combining elements to enhance their rarity and appearance) would be possible. Pavel responded that this would be a logical evolution of the gift mechanics and revealed plans to create an «interactive showcase» where users can display their NFT items.
— On the topic of entering the U.S. market, Durov noted a growing openness toward cryptocurrencies in general and TON in particular. He mentioned speaking with representatives from major exchanges, who are eager to list TON:
«I’d be surprised if we don’t see listings on Tier 1 U.S. CEX this year.»
According to Durov, Americans value freedom, which makes Telegram and TON a perfect fit for them.
⚫️ We also managed to ask a couple of questions. Naturally, we were curious if Durov follows any TON influencers. He mentioned that he uses admin tools to track news by specific keywords.
⚫️ As for The Daily TON, Pavel, after a brief moment of reflection, said he’d heard of our channel. Quite unexpected and incredibly flattering!
