RT @UNLazzarini: 🛑 Children + young people in East Jerusalem denied of their right to education in @UNRWA schools.

Today, Israeli Forces & personnel from the Jerusalem Municipality have forcefully entered the UNRWA Kalandia Training Centre and ordered its immediate evacuation.
At least 350 students and 30 staff were present and impacted.
Tear gas and sound bombs were fired.

Also, this morning, Israeli police officers, accompanied by staff from the Jerusalem Municipality went to UNRWA schools ordering their closure.

Today’s incidents have impacted 250 children in three UNRWA schools in East Jerusalem, +350 trainees in the Kalandia Training Centre, a large United Nations compound.

This is a violation of the basic right to #education as well as of United Nations privileges & immunities.

Children’s access to education must be preserved + United Nations facilities must be protected and respected at all times wherever they are.

ביום שישי (14.2.25), הגיעו מתנחלים אל קהילת ואד אל-אבייד במחוז בית לחם. המתנחלים תקפו תושבים באלות ובאבנים ופצעו שבעה מהם. הם אף שיסו כלב שהביאו עמם באחד התושבים. ההתקפה החלה באישון לילה ונמשכה במהלך היום.

כל תושבי הקהילה, עזבו ועברו לכפר הסמוך אל-מאנייה ובכך השיגו המתנחלים את מטרתם - גירוש באלימות.

מתחילת המלחמה גורשו כ-21 קהילות פלסטיניות משטחי מושבן בגדה המערבית בהן חיו כ-1200 בני אדם בהם מעל 450 קטינים

On Friday, 14 Feb. 2025, settlers entered the Palestinian community of Wadi al-Abyad (East al-Maniyah) in Bethlehem District in the middle of the night. They attacked residents with clubs and stones, injuring seven of them, and set a dog they brought with them on one. The assault continued throughout the day.

After the attack, the entire community packed up and moved to the nearby village of al-Maniyah. The settlers achieved their goal of violent expulsion.

Since the war started in October 2023, about 21 Palestinian communities have been driven out of various areas in the West Bank, displacing around 1,200 people, including more than 450 minors.

Settler violence is state violence. The Israeli apartheid regime and its representatives actively aid and abet these attacks as part of a strategy to cement the takeover of Palestinian land.
