It first ought to be emphasized this massive conflict is not only caused by US neocon interests; but started long before.

Firstly, "Iraqi Christian" is a misnomer. Iraq's Christians are overwhelmingly ethnic Assyrians who were denied a right to a state by the League of Nations in 1919.

Secondly, Bashar al Assad did not "protect Christians" so much so that Christians did not need protection from outside forces. We still cannot forget how the Assad regime fought Christians in Lebanon. We oppose and always have opposed Assad; and only fought against jihadists to protect our lands.

While otherwise your points are sound, Christians are not a minority in Syria; we are its original inhabitants.
