On This Day in Aussie History

Back on January 10, 1697, Dutch explorer Willem de Vlamingh rocked up to the Swan River, now Perth, and became the first European to explore the area. He spotted black swans (a total game-changer for Europeans), mapped the west coast, and got a glimpse of Noongar culture.

His adventures helped put Perth on the map. God’s always had a ripper plan for this great land—what a bloody beaut place we call home!

On Jan 9, 1868, the Hougoumont, the last convict ship, landed in WA, closing a tough chapter in Aussie history. From struggle & grit, we’ve built an incredible nation.

Australia’s always been full of tough bastards—no room for victimhood. We face reality, get on with it, and build God’s greatest country on Earth.

Check this out, mates! Thought I’d challenge myself to smash out 25 push-ups for Aussie Month 2025. First crack, I got 20. Second go, nailed 25. Now I’m hitting 35 like a legend!

When I started, my shoulder was proper munted after a couple of weeks off at Chrissy. But a few little push-up sessions later, it’s feeling heaps better.

Bogan fast fiction 🫡🇦🇺🇨🇦

In the frozen ruins of Canada, the tyrannical Snow Tyrant—formerly Prime Minister Trudeau—had clung to power for years, turning the nation into a communist ice prison. His Frost Guard patrolled the tundra, crushing dissent, while citizens were forced to kneel to his green energy dystopia.

But the spirit of the Freedom Convoy had never died. The truckers who once defied Trudeau’s COVID mandates had gone underground, turning their rigs into war machines. Led by Big Moose Mac and fueled by maple syrup and pure patriotism, they were Canada’s last hope.

When Trudeau resigned in disgrace, the Convoy struck. Semi-trucks armed with flamethrowers and hockey-stick battering rams stormed the icy Parliament Glacier. “For the people! For freedom! For Timmy’s coffee!” Mac bellowed as they smashed through the Frost Guard.

With one final charge, Mac faced the goblin-like Trudeau, who was huddled under solar blankets. “You’ll never break us, mate,” Mac growled, flinging a snowball in Trudeau’s face before firing up The Patriot Rig.

As the Snow Tyrant fled into the wilderness, the Convoy raised the Maple Leaf high. Canada was free again, thanks to the truckies who never stopped believing in true north, strong, and free.

On this day in 1930, Don Bradman smashed an unbeaten 452 for NSW, setting a world record and proving he was a legend in the making. As we celebrate Australia Month, let’s honour the bloke who defined Aussie grit and greatness. Cheers to The Don! 🫡🇦🇺🫡🇦🇺
